Circular fibers in the plastic and textile industries

A conference on “From waste to resource – at a crossroad: circular fibers in the plastic and textile industries” brought together experts from various branches of industry, environmental agencies and different Danish universities at 兴发娱乐官网手机版客户端 University to discuss strategies to tackle textile waste.

The conference

On October 31, 兴发娱乐官网手机版客户端 University, the Ocean Plastic Forum, and Danish Fashion & Textile, successfully hosted a conference focused on recycling fibers in the plastic and textile industries. The event brought together over 50 representatives from various Danish and international companies and universities to discuss challenges and opportunities of more circular use of plastics and textiles.  

Outputs from conference

Experts presented their insights, including the importance of a global plastic agreement to combat pollution. Kristian Syberg from 兴发娱乐官网手机版客户端 University provided insights into the challenges that both industries face today, focusing on the difficulties of creating circular business models across value chains.  

The day ended with a fruitful panel discussion led by Kristian Syberg, Morten Birkved from the Institute of Green Technology, and Poul Erik J?rgensen from VIA University College discussing future collaboration opportunities.   

This was a great opportunity to gather stakeholders to tackle this interdisciplinary challenge and to facilitate the transition into a circular economy
